Ol’ Red-Beard

Here at T-Slacks, we tend to favor the sport of Hockey—and seeing how its the Stanley Cup playoffs I had to write something about those pesky Flyers.  What would you expect, I’m a Bruins fan.

Everyone is entitled to his / her opinion on many a topic, so here is my two cents on left winger Scott Hartnell for the Philadelphia Flyers.  Personally I think the guy is a complete eye-sore to look at.  First of all,  have you seen his hair in High Def?  My LCD screen doesn’t even support that kind of color hue, and I find myself having to turn down the brightness / contrast due to that Bozo-like shank of his.  I think he’d be better suited on the ice skating around with a kilt and shillelagh for a stick.  Although, he has been productive in the 2010 playoffs.  His pass over to Danny Briere while falling down in the slot was a valiant play.  Still, this does not constitute running around like a buffoon, thinking he’s Mel Gibson on the set of Braveheart.

One thing is for sure.  If the Flyers hoist Lord Stanley, Hartnell will be dipping his giant Orc horn mug into it while eating an over sized turkey leg!

Wooden Ya Know It—Something’s Bruin…

In 2009-2010 the Boston Bruins screwed themselves, the fans & each other…

We’d all like to forget what happened to the Boston Bruins a week or so ago—But face the facts my friend—you’ll never forget it, so let’s just confront the ugliness already.  The Bruins front-office certainly isn’t saying much about commandeering an organization that’s being branded as arguably the largest choke artists in the history sports—or at least sports that use the 7-game playoff format…It’s unsettling…

Regardless, after happening upon these cute little wooden bear-flower-pot-planter-thingys…?—I suddenly arranged them in several different positions, all of them varying in degrees of difficulty——Yes, this might be a good indicator of a depletion in my level of maturity, but it’s also a nice tribute to the B’s and a constant reminder to Boston fans that the Bruins are pretty much screwed

History Will Be Made…

I’m loving the NHL’s new ‘History Will Be Made’ commercials that have been airing recently…But what I love even more is the all of the alternate versions that have been turning up…

Paying homage to The Mighty Ducks—Yes, that crappy film that you’ve tried hard to forget…

Vancouver Canucks Green Men

Bruin’s fans are well aware of Dennis Wideman’s questionable skill-set…Extremely Disturbing Side Note: This incident happened  b e f o r e the Bruins traded for him…

Get Your Hockey-Fix…

With the Bruins recently choking badly on the dong of the Philadelphia Flyers and the remaining non-choking teams taking a break this evening—I found this video to be oddly therapeutic.

A fantastic song—Performed here by Stompin’ Tom Connors…

Hopefully Bruins management blares this tune loudly during the off-season as they fire the coach and trade half the team.

5/14/2010 – The day the Bruins died…

Henry Hemilich Himself Couldn’t Have Helped The Boston Ruins…

The funniest part about this video takes place at the 14-second mark, in which we see a Bruins jersey that was thrown from the stands onto the ice.  Those jerseys are like 200-bucks fool—the Masshole who threw it was exceptionally pissed off at the hometown squad.  If his son was wearing black & gold face paint that night, the kid probably got sucker-punched as the horn sounded to end the 3rd period.

Applause to the Boston Bruins for becoming—literally—the biggest choke artists in the history of professional sports.

I’d prefer any other injury…

Broken...

(via the sportsnet.ca article)

Let us pray…

There is no way to say this gently—Sami Salo ruptured one of his two testicles…

Injuries are a part of hockey—and the guys who play the game for a living realize the danger involved.  However, I can’t imagine anything can prepare someone for the pain that must ensue after getting a ball blown up by a frozen hockey puck.

Playoffs are so damn intense…

A classic rec-league scenario plays out in this video…

Unfortunately, when it comes to ‘men’s league’ hockey—the worse the players are, the more serious they tend to take the game.   The two nincompoops in this video (especially the one in the penalty box) clearly think they’re contending for the Stanley Cup…

Watch video all the way to the end…

I’ve always felt that the best way to intimidate your opponent is to demonstrate to them that that you’re incapable of sitting on a bench.  Nice work pal…
