Here at Tight Slacks we have a thread called Where Are They Now? This is a posting on which we catch up on the whereabouts of lost artists of all sorts. In the first posting, I would like to ask the question to a musical supergroup.
The Bloodhound Gang. Where Are They Now?
“You and me baby ain’t nothin’ but mammals
So let’s do it like they do on the Discovery Channel”
“Bad Touch” was released in 1999, leading way into a potential world crisis due to the inconspicuous governmental conspiracy – Y2K. The song helped people all over the world forget about the chaos going on, but rather laugh their asses off at the outlandish lyrics written by the supergroup instead. After the release and success of the album Horray for Boobies, the band toured with a more than mediocre success.
A stand out track, “Mope”, is by far my favorite. The Pac Man interlude will blow your mind.
Through the years, band members have come and gone, but Jimmy Pop has been the leading front man and guitarist since the inception in ’92. He writes the whacked out lyrics and enjoys being a crude dude. Cheers Jimbo! To wrap things up, in eighteen years they only made four albums – the latest, 2005’s Hefty Fine, was a flop to some, a success to others. Jimmy rocks out when he wants and seems to be doing qutie alright. Sounds like a good gig to me. The group has two new members and apparently a new album is in the mix. Good luck guys!
